I was born in Downtown St. Petersburg in 1985. I grew up watching my dad record and archive airchecks of local radio stations. I was captivated by the amazingly talented DJ's on the air in the late 80's and early 90's. At an early age I became fascinated with radio and music. By age 8 I was learning to solder and build electronic kits. I built my first FM transmitter when I was 9 years old. Around the same time I started my first band and started recording really crappy demos on cassette tape. I got my first CB radio when I was 10, and immediately became obsessed with talking to all the local CB people. When I was 13 I got my Technician class amateur radio license, and soon after upgraded to General class. It was around this time that I built my first geocities webpage and started archiving broadcast airchecks and CB & Ham radio clips. That first site eventually evolved into CedricHarris.com, much of the content originally posted there can be found here. When I turned 18 I finally got my first glimpse of REAL radio at 1040 WWBA when their studios were located in Tampa. Around the same time I played my first REAL gig at Gators Cafe & Saloon. At this point I realized that my dreams were coming true. A few years later I was offered a position running the board at 860 WGUL. Now at age 28, I still work in radio and I'm still making music. I really can't complain. Life is good, I am truly blessed. These days I spend most of my time with my beautiful girlfriend, our daughter, our Shih Tzu, and the cat.
